for availing subsidy (50% of the cost), all material/technologies should conform to
Bureau of Indian Standards and maximum limit depends upon the size and
material used for construction.
PROMOTION OF INTEGRATED NUTRIENT MANAGEMENT (INM) AND
INTEGRATED PEST MANAGEMENT (IPM)
Assistance for INM and IPM measures is provided (30% of the cost) for
Horticulture crops. The maximum financial assistance under this component is
Rupees 1200 per hectare for a maximum area of four Hectare per beneficiary.
ORGANIC FARMING
Organic farming is being promoted to harness environmental and
economic benefits by way of adoption of organic farming techniques. Under this
component, financial assistance for establishing vermicompost units and High
Density Polyethylene (HDPE) vermibeds is provided @ 50% of the cost subject
to a maximum of Rs. 50000/- per beneficiary for a vermicompost unit having size
of 30'x 8' x 2.5'. For smaller units', assistance is on prorata basis. For HDPE
vermibed of 96 cft size, an assistance @ 50% of the cost subject to a maximum of
Rs 8000/- is given.
HORTICULTURE MECHANIZATION
Horticulture mechanization is aimed to improve farm efficiency and reduce
drudgery of farm work force. Assistance in this regard is provided for activities
such as procurement of power operated machines and tools.
Assistance for Horticulture mechanization is also available to such
growers' associations, farmer groups, self-help groups, women farmer groups
having at least 10 members, who are engaged in cultivation of Horticulture crops.
Assistance under this component is also provided to establish Farm Machinery
Banks for custom hiring.
