an effective alliance to collectively address many challenges of horticulture such

as improved access to investment, technology, inputs and markets. The

formation and development of FPOs has been actively encouraged & supported

by the Central Government and Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and their

agencies, using financial resources from various Centrally Sponsored Schemes.

ESTABLISHMENT OF PLANT HEALTH CLINIC

For appropriate disease management, diagnosis of plant diseases is pre-

requisite. It tells about the real cause (biotic/abiotic) of the disease. Keeping in

view the importance of the disease diagnosis to reduce the yield losses,

establishment of plant health clinic is proposed at Directorate of Horticulture,

Talab Tillo, Jammu.
HORTI-TOURISM

Jammu Division being a major tourist destination, has immense potential to

club its heritage and history with divisional agriculture inclusion of horticulture

sector. The Horticulture Department may work in tandem with the tourism

department to explore opportunities in the sector, thereby boosting income and

enhanced visibility.
