Fruit Processing Facilities
The Department of Horticulture has established one Fruit and Vegetable Craft Centre at Jammu and 5 Fruit Preservation and Utilization Extension Centres at Udhampur, Kathua, Poonch, Rajouri, Doda (Bhaderwah) Districts of the Division. These centres provide:-

Assistance to the public in general and growers in particular in processing of their surplus fruit and vegetable into different products like Jams, Jellies, Squashes, Pickles and Canned products, etc.

One month course is also being conducted for interested ladies / house wives in the art of Home Scale Fruit and Vegetable Preservation at different other centres of the Department.

The mobile team of these centres conducts mobile demonstration in different Institutions / Welfare Centres.

Six months Job-oriented course in fruit and vegetable preservation is being conducted for the interested educated youth at Fruit and Vegetable Craft Centre, Jammu so as to enable them to establish their own processing units.
